Travelling pages

Do you know what a travelling page is?

Every month or so, the Textiles in Oxford group members exchange a little piece of textile art that has often been inspired by a scrap of fabric, a pattern or an image. These little artworks are then collected in a book of inspiration which is a joy in itself. It's always exciting to see what other people have done and collect their creations in an inspirational book. The travelling pages book is always very very thick!

I am feeling particularly pleased with myself as I have just prepared enough travelling pages for a whole years worth of exchanges! . Here are some of mine ready to set off on a new journey.

I must confess, I do not often start with the inspiration - I stitch something and then usually find what might have inspired me. This is a great opportunity to go through my collection of postcards and images and chose something that matches up. Backwards I know but it works for me!
